Why did you decide to run for this office?

I am very concerned about the direction the country is taking. We need to go back to immigration laws and policies to restore our national and personal security in light of our wide-open southern border, the fentanyl crisis, and human and sex traffic reaching NC. It seems as if the radical left is trying to take over our lives and take away our personal freedoms and rights.

What are your top 3 priorities for serving in this office?
  1. Secure the Southern Border

  2. Decrease inflation and out-of-control federal spending

  3. Make the 6th safer, grow our economy, boost our healthcare and plan for the future
What experience/qualities make you a good choice for this office?

I have been a  lifelong Republican with conservative values. My parents taught me the value of loving my family, God and my country.  As a doctor and small business owner, I have witnessed the long reach of government and the burden it can create for families and small businesses. In addition, my 25 years of experience and medical service in this district, combined with my involvement in multiple medical organizations has given me the expertise to preserve Medicare and fix our health care system. In my role as a congresswoman, I will be holding myself to the highest level of honesty and integrity. You can always contact me, whether I’m in the district or Washington, because I want to hear your concerns and be sure they’re addressed to your satisfaction. I will never forget that we go to Washington because of you.  This will be the most important job of my life.

Jay Wagner

Endorsements: Darrell Hinnant, Mayor of Kannapolis, Karen Alexander, Mayor of Salisbury

Why did you decide to run for this office?

I decided to run for Congress for much the same reason that I decided to run for Mayor of High Point … to bring new ideas and leadership. I’m proud of the positive change that has come by sticking to conservative principles. During my 6-year term, we balanced 6 budgets, grew our total tax value from $9 Billion to $13.5 Billion, cut the property tax rate by nearly 10 percent, and (despite pressure to defund the police) increased funding and pay for our police department.

What are your top 3 priorities for serving in this office?

A.) The biggest problem in Washington D.C. is a lack of true leadership. It’s inexcusable what is going on at the southern border – we truly have no border, and the problem is simply our government will not enforce existing laws on the books. Refugees are not people that come from low economic impoverished countries with high crime – People in Ukraine and Venezuela would be refugees.

B.) I’m tired of middle-class families and the rest of our country balancing our own family pocketbook budgets, but our Congress can’t balance their budget. We don’t have a tax problem – we have an addiction to spending problem.

C.) As mayor of High Point we revitalized our downtown in an unprecedented way and have brought great middle-class jobs and helped entrepreneurs bring their startup businesses to fruition. I want to work with the other mayors/towns in our district and come up with a specific plan for our communities and as our congressman help bring back manufacturing and middle-class jobs to North Carolina. Local City Council’s and Mayors won’t have to come to me … I will come to them!

What experience/qualities make you a good choice for this office?

I am the only person that’s born, lived and worked in the 6th Congressional District and shown proven conservative leadership as mayor of High Point. It is very clear others that don’t live in our district are trying to use our people as a means to an end for power and a paycheck. You simply cannot trust someone who doesn’t even live in our district to have our best interest at heart when they go to Washington.

Mark Walker

Endorsements: Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Mike Lee

Why did you decide to run for this office?

I decided to run because of my track record of being the last member to get a balanced budget amendment to the floor and being the highest rated conservative to ever serve in the top positions of House leadership.

What are your top 3 priorities for serving in this office?

1. Secure the border
2. Balance our budget
3. Keep the federal government out of local classrooms
